With R410, an Universal Input/Output (UIO) module is introduced that enables you to configure the input/ output channels within a single IOM. The UIO module supports 32 channels. Each channel can independently be configured as one of the following types. • Analog Input channel (0-20mA or 4-20mA) • Analog Output channel (4-20mA) • Digital Input channel (with or without broke-wire detection) • Digital Output channel (with or without broke-wire detection) The UIO channels and device blocks are compatible with existing Series C AI, AO, DI, and DO channels and blocks. The Universal I/O, or UIO for short, is a microprocessor based interface module designed to allow user devices, like PLCs, computers and custom control panels, to control EDI distributors. It also allows EDI controls to operate externaldevices, for example alarms, motor starters, relays and solenoids,. With the UIO the user can monitor and operate one or many distributors or setup electricalinterlocks depending on spout position.The UIO is a cost effective, DIN rail mounted multi-function module. It can beplaced far from the EDI control unit, usually inside a custom control panel, along side a PLC, MCC or at a remote operator station. It can then be field configured to operate in several different modes depending on the needs of the user.
