Jessy Charrier . The main advantage of this tool is that it is Web-based. Basically, you can use it from anywhere at anytime, from any OS. It is also very simple (few options and a clear UI), so you get to work quite quickly. Web-based tools and remote TMs tend to be (very) slow at times, but it is never the case with Smartling, it is almost as fast as working locally. Moreover, you don't have to deal with TMs and files any longer, you just need to login and select your project and voila, you're good to go!
It is really useful for translating websites, because you see your formatted translation appearing as you type.
On the downside, the searches in TMs might not be on PAR with leading CAT tools, but it is often updated (no installation needed, it really is seamless for the translator), so that may get better in the future.
I definitely recommend this tool.

Keylingo com . Smartling has created a very Smart approach to localizing digital content for clients with complex websites. It offers an intuitive way of managing content release requests, tracking progress, flagging issues and translating content.
Translators are able to learn the platform quickly and easily. The translators, editors and clients all benefit from the ability to translate content 'in-context' with onscreen visual representation.
This robust platform is easy to navigate with dashboard, tools, people and content tabs including drop-down menus. Undeniably, a very user-friendly tool.

One of the few Online Tools which work correctly with Arabic (no problems with the RTL format or final points). You see directly the end result of the translation in the tool itself.
The own Glossary and TM are very helpful.

How easy is it to learn?

Muhammad Ramdhan Adhi . I've been working with Smartling system since the second term of 2011. I was invited by my senior fellow to help her working on the website and app localization of a prominent social network. She introduced me to the system in less than an hour and then I could directly work on the project smoothly. There's no need for one full-day training. Very easy to learn.
The system is equipped with some great features such as instant email notification to let me know whenever some articles are available to translate in the Dashboard, machine translation to give you some hints when you are stuck with some segments, translation memory, link to styled guide and glossary as provided by the end client.
Up to now, I've been working on seven localization projects using this online system and I really enjoy it.
Despite the five stars rating that I give, I believe that there is always some rooms for improvement.
