Polish Translator

I am Polish translator and interpreter, I specialize in translating legal , business and marketing texts as well as documents regarding education, real estate and general documents. Currently I work as a full-time freelance translator and my daily output is 2000-3500 words.

Besides translating I have also several years of experience in consecutive interpreting, including work in solicitors office, prisons and hospitals as well as in the Royal Court of Justice, the Crown and Magistrate Courts.

I studied at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland), I graduated in 2004 with a degree of Master of Law. In May 2004 I finally defended master thesis "Informational duties of an entrepreneur selling by means of an interactive webpage towards consumer" comparing Polish and EU regulation of this subject, which gained the highest mark.

Shortly after my graduation I moved to London where for over a year I studied English and passed:

• Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency, and
  
• Cambridge Business English Certificate Higher.
  
• 1998-1999 – yearly full-time course at language college: Akademia Słowa in Poznan
  

Aiming to gain officially recognized qualifications in translation, in September 2005 I undertook Introduction to Translation course at the University of Westminster, and in January 2006 started Diploma in Translation course at the same university where I was studying for the Diploma in Translation exam of the Institute of Linguists.



Aiming to provide my clients with high quality efficient solutions I use the latest version of the state of the art translation software SDL Trados Studio 2009 and I am its certified user, certification may be confirmed here

Stays abroad

Between 1997 and 2007 I have been six times to the USA, spending there altogether almost two years, and being in more than 20 states, what gave me a good insight into both culture and language.

Since May 2004 I've been living in London, traveling widely around the UK and polishing my language and translation skills at the beginning at the LITE College, and later at the University of Westminster.
