Cultural difference?

It strikes me that Drew lives on a continent where the main language serves you well for thousands of miles at a time (English in North America, Spanish in most of South America), so the use of two or three languages is not usually relevant for events with a wide catchment area.
Perhaps it is difficult for ProZ staff to understand the situation in other parts of the world where languages sometimes change within a relatively short distance.

I have updated the rule to indicate that this is related to non-proz.com events. As some have pointed out here in the thread that Powwows, ProZ.com conferences, trainings etc do not fall under this policy. The addition of "Non-ProZ.com events" hopefully clarifies that.

Drew
Cheers,
At least that aspect is clarified now.
Best, Chris

Posting in one Non-English forum was selected as that would cover most needs without opening up the possibility of making infinite posts.
