I am facing two different problems with two separate HTML files during the import process to SDL Trados 2009:

1) File 1 - some paragraphs are not imported from source html document to Trados;

2) File 2- Trados is importing html codes from source html document to the .xliff document as text to be translated.

Is it the case to contact the client and ask for a solution?

Thank you all. Regards, Rebelo.

Are these regular HTML files? Aug 4, 2011

Could you please check, if TagEdiitor behaves also eroneously?
If not, simply create TTX files out of the HTML files and work with those.
But I really suppose the files are no regular HTML files, but maybe php files or something similar...

If the files are proper html Aug 4, 2011

Studio should open them properly.

For Tageditor:
Start Workbench, create a new empty TM in your language pair
- Start Tageditor
- Open the html files or better drag & drop them on Tageditor window
- For ordinary html no further settings are required
- Save the files as TTX
- Process the TTX in Studio

HTML validator... Trados bug... Aug 4, 2011

Normally it should not occur for well formed files.
Use a HTML validator and check the file.

2) File 2- Trados is importing html codes from source html document to the .xliff document as text to be translated.

It's a common Trados error if the HTML file header or metainformation is invalid.
Both Studio and TagEditor are affected.
In this case, the file may be displayed properly 'cause, unlike Trados, the HTML browser simply skips the invalid line.
Use a HTML validator and check the file.

Cheers
GG
