15.17] If, on perusing the title, the purchaser or his solicitor has any queries, he may raise these with the vendor by furnishing ‘requisitions on title’– so-called because the purchaser ‘requires’ the vendor to remove the doubt or difficulty specified. However, as we shall see, ‘requisitions’ often not only deal with matters of doubt or difficulty, but also cover a wide range of matters, many of which simply remind the vendor to do various things before or by completion or ask for confirmation that the usual steps in the conveyancing process will be followed. Furthermore, though strictly requisitions should be confined to matters relating to the ‘title’, they also tend in practice to cover various matters relating more to the property itself.
