Supplier must be qualified by Global Purchasing per GPP-300. Current ISO 9001 and/or TS 16949 certification.Suppliers of minerals mined from the earth and used in their natural state do not require third-party ISO 9001 certification. Natural state by definition means, no further processing is performed. Mined minerals do require certification by an accredited IEC 17025 laboratory to the relevant material specification, or alternatively, F-M to validate such materials during the course of manufacture. Examples of these types of mined materials include, but are not limited to: iron oxide, silica, calcium carbonate, wollastonite, mica, vermiculite, etc. These suppliers are still required to meet all other Federal-Mogul requirements concerning quality and delivery performance.
