I am an academically trained translator and interpreter from Poland, now based in Berlin. I translate specialized and creative texts from English and German into Polish. My current areas of expertise include legal, journalistic, and marketing translation (transcreation), but I have documented experience in technical translation as well as interpreting for the healthcare industry.

I hold a master’s degree in applied linguistics with a major in specialized translation and interpreting. I started my bachelor's program at the University of Warsaw in 2012 and graduated with a degree in 2015, which is when I was offered to join a Warsaw-based agency as a translator. That was where I got to apply my skills in practice for the first time and learned a lot in a relatively short period of time (I mostly translated legal and business documents, contracts, and medical reports). I worked there as I was pursuing my MA degree, i.e., until 2017, when I graduated for the second time.

Besides studying full-time and taking up translation jobs, I freelanced as a music journalist. From 2015 until 2021, I was an editor of "Noise Magazine," a well-known music publication in Poland. Thanks to the time I spent working for "Noise," I had an opportunity to do interviews in German, English, and Polish as well as to translate them, which provided me with a creative/idiomatic perspective on my profession.

As of 2023, I am back in the language services industry after a break. My recent clients include such translation agencies as TOPPAN Digital Language and ZOO Digital. I have had multiple direct clients as well, e.g., the Malopolska Institute of Culture in Krakow, Poland and the language learning company/platform goFLUENT. As far as my interpreting experience is concerned, I have recently completed work for Deutsche Medizinische Union (an organization which assists clients from Eastern Europe in finding and receiving medical treatment abroad) as well as assisted an individual client as a community interpreter. I hold two language certificates: a C2 certificate in German from Goethe-Institut (Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom) and a CPE certificate from Cambridge University (pass with grade A). Moreover, I am a member of BDÜ (Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer) - the biggest professional association of translators and interpreters in Germany.
