(...) On a number of occasions, Master Moy Lin-shin pointed out the connection between the virtues and the cultivation of health. And his own actions exemplified how these virtues can be put into practice.
Master Moy also spoke on occasion about the traditional Chinese views on the five viscera, and their corresponding elements and virtues. The five viscera are the liver, heart, lungs, kidneys, and spleen. Each one has a corresponding element and virtue: the liver is wood and is associated with the virtue of kindness; the heart is fire and its virtue is self-sacrifice; the lungs are metal and represent propriety; the kidneys are water and associated with wisdom; and the spleen is earth and related to trustworthiness.
The essence of what Master Moy said was that you can actually cultivate your internal organs and improve your health by cultivating each of the five virtues associated with those internal organs. He said that it's not easy to practice those virtues but they each represent important qualities and important attributes of health.
Master Moy said that if you keep a pleasant outlook on life, you are already cultivating your internals. Improving your Tai Chi and improving your health doesn't just involve doing Don-yus and Tor-yus. You have to cultivate virtue in your everyday life before you can really be considered to be cultivating your internals. (...)

(...) Mistrz Moy Lin-shin przy wielu okazjach wskazywał na połączenie między cnotami prawości a dbałością o zdrowie. I swoim własnym zachowaniem dawał przykład jak można to praktykować.
Mistrz Moy mówił czasami na temat tradycyjnego chińskiego widzenia pięciu organów wewnętrznych oraz odpowiadających im żywiołów i cnót. Tych pięć organów to wątroba, serce, płuca, nerki i śledziona. Każdy z nich ma odpowiadający mu żywioł i cnotę. Wątroba to drewno i jest ona kojarzona z cnotą życzliwości; serce to ogień, a jego cnotą jest poświęcenie się dla innych; płuca to metal, a reprezentują przyzwoitość; nerki to woda, a kojarzone są z mądrością; śledziona zaś to ziemia i związana jest ona z wiarygodnością.
Esencją nauk Mistrza Moy jest to, że można rzeczywiście dbać o swoje narządy wewnętrzne i wpływać na poprawę własnego zdrowia poprzez praktykę każdej z pięciu cnót z nimi kojarzonych. Powiedział on, że praktyka tych cnót nie jest łatwa, ale że każda z nich reprezentuje ważne zalety oraz ważne atrybuty zdrowia.
Zdaniem Mistrza Moy już poprzez samo patrzenie na życie jako na coś przyjemnego pielęgnujemy swoje organy wewnętrzne. Praca nad Tai Chi i poprawą zdrowia to nie tylko ćwiczenie Don-yu i Tor-yu. Musimy praktykować cnoty prawości każdego dnia i wtedy dopiero rzeczywiście będzie można uznać, że dbamy o swoje organy wewnętrzne. (...)
