Hello,
I have a problem with Wordfast (I`m a new user). Whenever there is a capitalized word in the source text, for example INPUTS - a warning sign appears and says: "Warnung: INPUT, (untranslatable)".
I tried to change the source text in Wordfast, but it was not possible. Is there a way to do it? The other words are ok and there is no warning sign, just the capitalized words have the warning sign in front of it....

I would be thankful for any suggestions!

I think I have the answer Jun 21, 2009

At least I don't know what version of wordfast you have or what differences there are between them but, in my wordfast, open up the box, click the tab for setup, and then the tab for PB (Pandora's box). Scroll down to Placeable=FirstCap or Placeable=AllCap and insert and _ in this, eg Placeable=First_Cap

The _ serves to disable this function.

I highly recommend the wordfast manual at least for my version as it is very clear and you will get a lot more out of this progra

Hope that helps

Which box do I have to open? Jun 21, 2009

Hi Lesley,
thanks a lot for your reply!
Which box do I have to open in Wordfast?

I´m using the trial version of Wordfast Pro. I just downloaded the manual (116 pages) of version 5.54 - I think there is no other. I will have to read the manual for sure. Yesterday I created a new project and translated 1 page - today I wanted to open the project again - but unfortunately my translation got lost, but the tm is saved at least. Yesterday I created a new project and translated 1 page - today I wanted to open the project again - but unfortunately my translation got lost, but the tm is saved at least. That´s strange because I often clicked the "Save"-Button. Maybe I should have clicked "save translated file"?

I see it´s getting more complicated than I thought it would be, will start reading the manual!

Sorry I don't know wordfast Pro Jun 21, 2009

I use 5.54, which suits me grand, and far as I understand, wordfast Pro is quite distinct.

I hope someone else who knows can help you.

Problem solved Jun 21, 2009

I translated again a part and saved the file than over "save translated file" - when I opened the word file again, I found also all the translation there (even where it said before untranslatable). Now it seems to be working and I don´t even have to change to source text but to ignore the warning.

Anyway, I think I will change to Wordfast Classic soon to see if it´s easier. The manual is also more precise....

Thanks again!

Hi All,

Due to several requests from our users, we will be making a printable Wordfast Pro manual available on our website ( http://www.wordfast.com/store_download.html ) within the next few days.

Sincerely,

Kristyna
