Hi, Is there any chance of an Android version for those of us who aren't Apple fanboys/girls? Thanks, Robin | | | But this ist not WF Anywhere | Nov 9, 2010 |
This app ist just a OCR utility. I can not use a TM! For this I have Evernote and other OCR utilities. Google Translator has also his own app. Why don't you make something like the Dropbox app? If I could upload a TM and documents, maybe I could work "on the road/beach" with the iPad. But if Google docs make his own app (I think still nothing there) well... It must be a new interface. Regards

Sincerely, Kristyna Yes I could open WF Anywhere in a iPad, but just the same way as I could open any site in Safari. The design is already not so "nice" in a big monitor, it looks like Windows 3.1 (Sorry). This is not useful for working in 10", a site is a site, not a app. It needs a complet new interface to be usable. As I said about Dropbox. I can also access to Dropbox through Safari, but it ist not so ergonomic like the (very good made) App. I repeat, this app, like it is now, is just a toy for kids for make a foto of a sentence and play with it to translate it into chinese (for example). In my opinion is a waste of time making versions for Blackberry and Android. I would just implement the site with usable elements. This is the reason/task of a app. Good example of implementation is also the Facebook app. Much more better to access in it as with the "normal" site over Safari. ... Just my opinion. I'm very interested in the idea of a useable WF app that can connect to WF anywhere. If there were an app for my iPhone that let me access and translate segment by segment of text (possibly previously uploaded to WF anywhere via my mac), and using uploaded TM's I'd be willing to pay for that and I'd wager that there are many translators out there who share my opinion. If anyone knows anything about this or if a rep of Wordfast has any info, please post. Otherwise, the WF app for iPhone is just a... Otherwise, the WF app for iPhone is just a toy (as mentioned by another post), and a browser-based WF anywhere is not usefull/convenient enought to gain widescale use. Just my two cents. David Higbee wrote: If there were an app for my iPhone that let me access and translate segment by segment of text Dear David, It should be useful to activate the option "Plain text mode for mobile device" at "Pandora's Box". I know this might not be as handy as an app, but I hope it helps in the meanwhile. --- Best Regards, Yasmin Moslem Wordfast Technical Support Specialist www.wordfast.com | www.wordfast.net | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Wordfast iPhone App Pastey | Your smart companion app
