Too many placeables/hiding placeables

Hi,

I have to work on a Japanese text which was originally provided to me in pdf format. I have converted it to Word using OCR software, but when I tried to open it in Wordfast, the text was full of placeables to the extent that it's hard to read the sentences. Is there any way to hide placeables?
I work with Wordfast Pro 3.0 for Mac.

Format all May 23, 2012

You should select the whole text and apply the same formatting for all. Or you can use CodeZapper utility in Word. Good luck!

I will try that. At any rate, I have just changed the format of my document from .doc to .docx, and for some reason that seems to have done the trick.

Try resetting formatting May 23, 2012

If you don't need much formatting, try completely resetting it. As I remember, the Word shortcut for it is Shift+Ctrl+N. Ans set the same language for the entire text.
