TM not working after upgrade

Hi everyone,

I recently upgraded to the newest version of Wordfast, my first upgrade since buying a WF license a few years ago. Problem is, since the upgrade Wordfast won't recognize material entered into the TM before the upgrade. Did I miss a necessary step after upgrading?

If you have, you're entitled to 12 months' technical support directly from Wordfast - in my experience, their response is very fast and you normally get to the root of the problem within a few hours at most.


If you haven't, 2 possibilities spring to mind - the first is that your TM has more than 500 segments in it, and so has stopped working due to size-constraints with non-purchased versions.

The second (and also a possibility if you have bought a new licence) is that your TM was originally created with Trados or the like. Were you originally sent it by an agency? I found that a couple of my TMs stopped working when I upgraded, as the latest versions of WF are no longer Trados-compatible. If this is the case, you need to get the agency to send you the TM in TMX format (or convert it yourself).

Reorganize your TM Feb 28, 2007

Did you reorganize your TM after the upgrade? This is necessary after un upgrade, and I generally reorganize the glossaries too.

Hmmm, I thought I had, but I reorganized again and everything is working fine. Thanks to both for your suggestions
