17. Code of Criminal Procedure (Keiji-soshō-hō) Law No. 131, 1984, arts. 461-470 provide for simplified proceedings by summary courts [kan'i saibansho], upon request by the prosecutor (art. 461) and acquiescence in writing by the accused (art. 461-2).
