At that time the city was famous for its large number of workshops, mostly Jewish. Ciechanowiec visible traces of history are its sights. To this day the clear spatial layout of the medieval town in the shape of the spindle stretched parallel to the Nurzec river and monuments associated with the most famous resident priest Krzysztof Ciechanowiec Kluki (1739-1796), naturalist of the Enlightenment period, the author of the first Polish-language textbooks written at the request of natural Commission of National Education, honoured by King Stanislaw August.

The map of Drezdenko has Kosciuszko and Krakowska street as the main part of "wrzeciono:" Z założenia przedlokacyjnego pozostał obrys układu wrzecionowego - obecnie ulice Kościuszki i Krakowska, z placem targowym we wnętrzu.
