English term

I got the gig

May offend English to Polish Other Poetry & Literature literature
- (...) I consult the manual. Page seven starts "Look out for the pub with a goat"
- At the crossroads?
- Indeed. Tourist goat. Tied up outside the hotel, trying to look authentic, 'I got the gig'. Ah, the countryside is lovely certainly, I just can't see why anyone would consider living here.

Gig tu chyba w takim znaczeniu:
Webster:
Main Entry: 5 gig
Function: noun
Etymology: origin unknown
: a job usually for a specified time; especially : an entertainer's engagement
