Have a look at this:

Why are you surprised? Feb 6, 2008

I haven't tried it myself, but I know for sure some translators use Wf for Linux. Have a look here:

o, it's crossover Feb 6, 2008

I get it it now. But if this can be called WF for linux then there is MS Offce for Linux as well))) And Adobe Photoshop too as it runs on Wine... almost.
Misuse of the word "supported" I think.

WF for linux ? Feb 6, 2008

Wordfast is programmed in MS Word's macro language. As such, the core code is platform-independent. Strictly speaking, there is no "Wordfast for Linux", and no "Wordfast for Windows", either.

Still crossing my fingers... Feb 7, 2008

I actually talked to the creator of WF at a conference in Portugal and he said that there is a version in the works that will work directly with Open Office. If that happens, I may finally get rid of Windows altogether

The page doesn't say that there is a WF for Linux. It says that WF has been known to work on Linux. There are no separate versions of WF for Windows and OSX either.

Marc has a very good point, although a rather technical one for all practical purposes.

I hope you're right, because this is a major stumbling block for me with translation on the Mac... I'd like to work with native OS X software, but the new Office for Mac doesn't support VisualBasic any more.

Of course, Open Office isn't native to Mac either, strictly speaking, but nevertheless perks along pretty well...

that's what i thought Feb 7, 2008

When I saw the penguin on the WF site, that was exactly what I hoped for: WF for OO.
It would be great if it happened.
