The hearing instruments monitor and determine various characteristics of the sound environment and combine this with information about the personal profile to provide a personalized hearing instrument performance. This personalized automatic system is referred to as YouMatic. The details of how a client’s specific YouMatic will operate can be viewed in the YouMatic Manager in the Fitting Step.

The five personal profiles are:
• Balanced: Full audibility of speech in all situations while automatically and transparently minimizing the effects of background noise. The personal profile for clients seeking balance between good speech understanding and comfort. YouMatic will give support in environments with moderate to loud noise levels to ensure comfortable speech. Adaptation to changes in listening environment will be moderate.

Steady: A consistent high quality sound and stable sound picture with slow and transparent adaptation to changes in the environment. The personal profile for clients who prefer a highly comfortable, soft and round sound. YouMatic will reduce noise in all situations. Adaptation to changes in listening environment will be slow providing a steady sound picture.
