The crossover box, near to Old Oak Common in West London, will allow HS2 trains to switch tracks underground on their approach into the new superhub station.
Installation of 200m of sheet piling has already been completed completed by the SCS JV (Skanska, Costain and Strabag Railways) allowing permanent works to start.
The Victoria Road crossover box site is west the new HS2 Old Oak Common station site. The huge underground box structure will house a crossover track mechanism that will allow trains to switch between tracks, at up to 100km/h, on the approach to and descent from Old Oak Common station.
