My kids made the ma-ma-ma sound first so it became logical for me to refer to myself as "mama" instead of mommy. -

'Mum' is a diminutive version of mother, something that many children say. However, 'mum' is also means several other things (for example, a call for silence, and also a version of a word 'madam', and some kind of ale), so the wordplay would be kept in a way.
(I tried to find a good word that would mean 'a fly' or some other insect, but I think that's impossible. And it doesn't really have to be that, does it? I think it may be enough that the word can also mean something else for the wordplay to be kept.)
