Столкнулся с той же проблемой, в итоге открыл документ в 2010м Офисе - там все отображается корректно. Ура. Еще на каком-то форуме попался вариант: установить пакет восточных (то ли японских, то ли китайских) шрифтов. Подозреваю, что тоже помогло бы в моем случае, т.к. изначальный документ делался яппами и в настройках мелькал японский язык.
