: I interepreted once for an offender with a domestic violence conviction and his Probation Officer said that the offender would have to disclose the offence to prospective employers, even after he had spent it.

: Nie, to jest odstąpienie od wymierzenia kary. "Zatarcie" to "wymazanie" zapisu o odbyciu kary wymierzonej kiedyś za przestępstwo. W takiej sytuacji osoba kiedyś karana może okazać zaświadczenie o niekaralności. W Pl zazwyczaj po 5-10 latach.

Discussion
Jest też trochę różnic. Jeżeli akta zostają wyczyszczone (expunged) albo wyłączone z obiegu, zastrzeżone (sealed), to „skazanie” nadal istnieje jako pewien stan prawny, a tylko obieg informacji o nim jest ograniczony, ewentualnie — zależnie od konkretnego systemu prawnego — delikwent może np. nie być zobowiązany do wspominania o takim skazaniu w ankietach. Ale skazanie jako takie nie „zaciera” się.
Tak więc osobiście pisałbym o „expungement” gdyby chodziło po prostu o to, że ktoś nie jest powszechnie identyfikowany jako skazany przestępca, a „spent conviction”, gdyby to był np. wywód naukowy dotyczący statusu samego skazania (wyroku), nie osoby skazanego.
Jako zupełnie potoczne słowo w dość kolokwialnym tekście prawdopodobnie wybrałbym „wiped”.
